Watch: Ford Models Secures Exclusive Rights to Animated GIF Printing Technology for Its Comp Cards
by Damien Neva
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ford Models is proud to announce its exclusive rights to an all new, highly advanced nanotechnological microarray printing process with sub-micron positional accuracy that will realize the heretofore impossible feat of printing a fully animated Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) image to card stock paper. The GIF89a spec, which allows for the continuous (looping, looping, looping…) sequential display of 256 colors with resolution 3 x 8bits/primary, has long been the sole dominion of the interweb browser dating back to Netscape Navigator 2.0…that is, until now.
A new proprietary printing technology has been developed in secrecy that looses the GIF89a spec from cyberspace onto the printed page or in the case of Ford Models, its world renown model comp cards. The above exclusive, never-before-seen video shot at the Ford Models global headquarters at 111 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan demonstrates the technology in action on the front of model comp card of Francisco Lachowski (Ford Men). Given the explosive (“viral”) growth of animated GIFs on CompuServe, GeoCities, and Tumblr, the exclusive acquisition of technology rights was an absolute must for Ford Models. Animated GIF composite cards are poised to put Ford Models in the pole position for most IRL reblogs, likes, andretweets.
